National Weather Service has placed Schuylkill County under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday, March 31.
Schuylkill County is one of many counties in Pennsylvania under the same watch.
A front is moving through that has colder air behind it. The instability in the atmosphere has the potential to touch off a few severe storms through the watch time.
NWS believes the biggest threats from these storms are damaging wind and hail. Wind gusts could be as strong as 60 mph.
Heavy rain could accompany the thunderstorms. Up to a half-inch of rain could fall during a thunderstorm.
