We’ve had an ongoing series of Schuylkill County Man posts since we first started publishing original news content a few years ago.

Schuylkill County Man certainly has generated a lot of headlines in that short time. His tales are astonishing; his exploits confounding but surprising to no one.

But we’ve never really been able to put a face to the Schuylkill County Man character.

That ended tonight when Mahanoy City police arrested a person we can only assume is THE Schuylkill County Man.

Covered in some sort of hieroglyphic face ink and sporting an I ❤ HOT MILFS hoodie, 21-year-old Matthew Elison, of Tamaqua, was picked up by Mahanoy City PD on Thursday evening. Police took him into custody following an incident in the 200 block of W. Centre St. tonight.

Police say Elison was wanted on a Schuylkill County bench warrant and they took him to Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville after his arrest. In November last year, Elison was sentenced to 6 months to 2 years in prison on a felony criminal mischief charge, according to court records.

Mahanoy City PD says Elison now faces these additional charges following Thursday’s incident:

  • Felony aggravated assault
  • Felony disarming a law enforcement officer
  • Resisting arrest
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Public drunkenness

Police say they’ll be filing arrest papers on these charges on Friday.
