A Lebanon County man is facing some charges following a traffic incident early Monday morning in Palo Alto.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the incident happened a little after 4 a.m. on Monday (Dec. 27) along W. Bacon St.
They say David Bowers, 21, of Bethel, was driving west on Bacon St. when his vehicle hit a utility pole on the side of the road near Costas Candies.
The impact of the crash apparently caused Bowers’ Chevy Silverado to lose one of its wheels. It also knocked out electricity to a portion of Pally.
Despite being limited to only 3 wheels left on his vehicle, Bowers drove away from the scene of the crash.
Police say he made it to Bacon St.’s intersection with Route 61. According to our Google Maps estimate, that’s about 3,880 feet (or nearly 3/4 of a mile).
Police say once Bowers made it to the highway, he got out of the vehicle and dashed away on foot in an unknown direction.
