A new Christmas tree is back in the middle of Garfield Square in Pottsville.
Earlier this week, city workers replaced the tree after another in the same spot was recently hit by a motorist.
Red, green, and white lights are wrapped around the new tree, just as they were before the old one was hit. A bright white star adorns the top.
An Allentown man says he was looking at Google Maps when he crashed his car into the first Pottsville Christmas tree in 2021.
On Nov. 30, a motorist driving through Garfield Square smashed into the original Pottsville Christmas tree.
According to a WFMZ-TV report, an Allentown man admits he was looking at Google Maps and got distracted when he crashed into the tree.
The first Pottsville Christmas tree of 2021 was put up and lit for the first time just a few days prior to the crash.
The first Pottsville Christmas tree in 2021 was hit by a car on Nov. 30. The tree snapped in half in the crash and had to be replaced.
