
Two people from Tower City suffered serious injuries in a head-on crash along Route 209 Thursday evening.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the crash happened at about 5:45 p.m. in Porter Township, just west of Tower St. on the highway. That’s where a vehicle driven by Randall Russelavage, 62, was headed north on Route 209. At one point, Russelavage’s vehicle veered into the southbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by Brad Miller, 31, of Lancaster, head-on.
Russelavage was accompanied by Dawn Russelavage, 70, also of Tower City. The Russelavages were flown from the scene by Lifeflight medical helicopter to Geisinger hospital in Danville. Police describe their injuries as serious.
Miller was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville by ambulance for treatment of possible injuries.
