A Pitman woman died Sunday afternoon in a UTV crash in Northumberland County.
According to PA State Police, 21-year-old Karli M. Snyder was one of 4 passengers in a Polaris Ranger Utility Terrain Vehicle traveling along Howerters Rd. in Upper Mahanoy Township at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
As the UTV attempted to make a right-hand turn on to Cemetery Rd., it hit an embankment on the east shoulder of Cemetery Rd. That caused the UTV to roll onto its passenger side.
Snyder was injured in the rollover and succumbed at the scene of the crash.
The driver, 34-year-old Molly V. Westfall, also of Pitman, was injured in the crash and taken to Geisinger hospital in Danville by Hegins Area Ambulance. Three other passengers in the vehicle, children aged 4, 9, and 11, escaped injury in the crash.
Police at the Stonington barracks say they were assisted at the scene by members of Hegins Area EMS, Area Services EMS, Klingerstown Fire Dpt. Pillow Fire Engine 28, and Cartas Towing.
