UPDATED TO REFLECT NEW PREDICTED SNOW TOTAL
National Weather Service now places Schuylkill County and several others in Pennsylvania in a WINTER STORM WARNING.
The warning lasts from 1 a.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday.
Forecasters believe about 6 inches of snow will fall during that time. And they’re not ruling out the chance of a light glaze of ice, too. Sleet and freezing rain may fall for a short period of time Thursday afternoon and lead to a small ice build-up.
NWS advises that travel during the Winter Storm Warning may be difficult and will likely affect the rush hour commutes on Thursday morning and evening.
Other counties in Pennsylvania affected by the Winter Storm Warning include:
- Fulton
- Franklin
- Perry
- Dauphin
- Lebanon
- Cumberland
- Adams
- York
- Lancaster
