National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Schuylkill County from Monday afternoon until Tuesday afternoon (February 15-16).

Forecasters believe a heavy wintry mix of precipitation is likely with up to 2 inches of snow and between one- and two-tenths of an inch of ice. Higher elevations may see more than that.

NWS says the “best potential” for significant freezing rain is on Monday night. This storm is likely to cause tricky travel conditions for the duration of the storm.

According to information from NWS-State College, Pottsville is likely to see less than an inch of snow but up to one-quarter of an inch of ice accumulation from this storm.
