Mary Ann (Tootie) McCord Woomert, of Schuylkill Haven passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Schuylkill Haven.

Born Sept. 30, 1922 Mary is the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Gallagher Wisner. She is the last survivor of her immediate family.

She attended St. Ambrose and Schuylkill Haven Area Schools. She is a lifetime member of St. Ambrose R.C. Church, Schuylkill Haven Seniors, VFW Auxiliary. She was employed by several knitting mills in the Schuylkill Haven area including Bashore’s & Miller’s.

Mary did traveling with her brothers and sisters to visit other family in Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, Philadelphia and California. With a close friend, another Mary, she walked miles and miles thru Schuylkill Haven and Cressona for years. She also enjoyed going to casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas with family.

Sitting on her porch with family and watching the Borough Day activities, was a fun way to celebrate her birthday every year.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Leonard (Butch) McCord and her second husband Willis Woomert Sr. She is also preceded by brothers Richard Wisner and Vincent Wisner, infant brother John Wisner.Sisters Katherine Salmon and Frances Mullins, Son-in-Law Daniel Fisher also preceded Mary.

Mary is survived by 2 daughters: Lynn Smith, wife of George of Orwigsburg; Margaret (Peg) Fisher, widow of Daniel of Pottsville. Grandchildren: Leonard Smith (Michele) of Auburn; April Miller (Evan) of Berwick and Warren Fisher (Jesse) of Phoenixville. Great Grandchildren: Cole and Mya Smith; Grace, Daniel, Nathan, Tyler and Brandon Miller. Stepchildren: Barb Tretter, Willis Woomert Jr. and Alan Woomert Sr. Also step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID 19 virus, services will be private at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. at 25 E. Main St. in Sch. Haven. Interment at Queen of the Universe cemetery in Pottsville.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Schuylkill Haven Library, 104 Saint John Street, Schuylkill Haven or St. Ambrose RCC, 201 Randel Street Schuylkill Haven.
