National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Schuylkill County on New Year’s Day 2021.
The Advisory goes into effect at 10 a.m. on Jan. 1 and expires at 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2.
Winter Weather Advisory on Jan. 1, 2021 – Schuylkill County
NWS says that a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will move over Schuylkill County starting in the late morning on New Year’s Day Friday.
You can expect the wintry mix to continue throughout the day on Friday. Up to one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is expected.
Ice accumulations on power lines could lead to electricity outages. Roads may be slippery, especially in places where they’re not treated.
