There’s a bit of controversy swirling around the Public Comment portion of recent Schuylkill County Commissioners meetings.
These forums have become a breeding ground for rants and accusations over the County’s clear cover-up of how it’s spending its CARES Act money and the latest dirt on Commissioner George Halcovage related to his harassment scandal inside the Courthouse.
But if you think this is another “only in Schuylkill County” moment, you’re wrong … very, very wrong.
Crazy City Council Meetings
If Schuylkill County Commissioners somehow try to get rid of the Public Comment portion of their meetings, it’d be a Constitutional crisis. But it’d also be a travesty.
While the people who are most outspoken sometimes say some things that sound truly outlandish, you can’t help but listen and wonder if they’re true. But it’s never got as bad as these crazy city council meetings caught on camera.
Check out some of the most bizarre public meeting comments ever recorded. They’ll make what happens at Schuylkill County Commissioners meetings seem tame, by comparison.
Councilwoman Calls Ray in Scranton a Liar
Ray in Scranton made headlines for his epic rants at Scranton City Council meetings a few years ago. On this night, his accusations cause the President of the council to abruptly adjourn the meeting.
2 Boobs, 6 Butts
In this clip, a lady from Lincoln (not sure which state) addresses elected officials over the placement of a concrete company in a residential neighborhood. And she brings all the member of the board some panties since she claims theirs are in a twist.
Just remember, this lady has 2 boobs, not 6. She’s got 6 butts, apparently.
Where are the documents, Carl?
Ban Boneless Wings
This son of a Lincoln City Councilman stepped up to the mic to call out a gross mislabeling of food. He says boneless wings aren’t even really wings. They’re just … trash.
Davenport Woman Has Divorce Trouble
A Davenport woman says, “I’m not quite sure why I’m here or what I’m doing,” as she tells city officials about the trouble she’s having with divorce proceedings.
She won’t be Davenport’s problem soon though. Apparently, she’s moving to Texas but can’t find a job because the library blocked her password and she doesn’t like Facebook.
Mystery Helicopter Shaking This Man’s House
This clip has it all … a hockey conspiracy and a mystery helicopter shaking his home.
Searching for the connection between the two …
Admittedly Dorky Lady Sings About Mayor’s Bike Accident
A lady in Austin opposes the city council’s plan to impose a bicycle helmet mandate because the mayor was allegedly involved in a bike accident and believes the helmet saved his life.
But rather than just sound off on the issue, she decided to sing about it instead.
InfoWars Reporter Goes Off at Austin Council Meeting
Not all comments at public meetings are off-the-wall like the examples above. Some people eventually just get fed up enough with their inactive government and lash out against it.
Owen Schroyer of InfoWars fame did just that last year when he saw a problem brewing with Tent Cities cropping up all over Austin, Texas.
He eventually had to be led out of the meeting by authorities. But maybe this is what we need here at home.
