Helen Salen, 99 – Member of Holy Guardian Angels Church Reading

Helen Ann Salen, 99, of Phoenix Park Rd, passed away Monday, August 17th, one day short of her 100th birthday at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Helen was born in Forestville on August 18, 1920, a daughter of the late Mary (Welsh) and William J Murphy.

She was the widow of John V. Salen who died November 23, 1999.

Helen was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Church Reading.

She was a graduate of Cass Township High School.

In addition to her parents and her husband, John, she was preceded in death by brothers; William,Vincent, John, & James Murphy. Sisters; Mary Brennan, Gertrude Burke, Angela Gilles, Ann Sabados.

Helen is survived by a brother, Cyril Murphy of Minersville. She is also survived by nieces and nephews including her caregivers Marcia Gleason and Jean Murphy of who she resided with.

Services are private at the convenience of family. Mausoleum Encryptment Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.
