Lovene M. Tranquillo, 92- Accepted to Study at The Juilliard School, Raised Family Instead

Lovene M. Tranquillo, 92, of Coatesville, formerly of Branch Township, passed away on Monday, May 11, at Newport Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Christiana.

Born in Forestville, Cass Township on January 29, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John Melocheck, Sr. and the late Anna Marcovitch Melocheck. She was a 1946 graduate of Cass Township High School, and had been accepted to study at The Juilliard School, New York City. Instead, she chose to marry and raise a family.

She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Minersville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tranquillo, in 1990; four siblings, Cornelia Meek, John Melocheck, Jr., Stephen Melocheck and Eugene Melocheck; a son-in-law, Brian Furrow.

Surviving are three children, Gary J. Tranquillo, Branch Township, Cheryl Tranquillo, Big Bear City, California, and Patricia L. Tranquillo, Coatesville; a grandson, Brendan A. Bennett, Osceola, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews, including her godchild, Karen Muncy, Norwegian Township.

Private graveside services will be held in Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery, Branch Township.
