Knoebels Opening Day Pushed Back Indefinitely

Knoebels Amusement Resort announced this week it’s pushing back its 2020 opening until a date to be determined.

In an announcement from the company on Tuesday, the uncertainty created by the response to the coronavirus pandemic means they don’t know when it’s safe to be open for business.

All the company’s off-season projects are put on hold, too.

Knoebels Amusement Resort Delays 2020 Season Opening Indefinitely Over Coronavirus Uncertainty

“For the health and safety of our team and community, we’re closely following federal and state guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19,” the company says in a statement on April 7. “Since much uncertainty exists as to when this will be possible, our most responsible route is to delay the start of our 2020 season until further notice.”

Thousands from all over the coal region, including many in Schuylkill County, are upset about the announcement, of course. But the decision to push back the start date for the Knoebels 2020 season means a lot of company picnics, family reunions, and camping trips are just as uncertain.

In its statement, Knoebels says it’s addressing reservations already in place and future plans at the resort for the rest of the 2020 season, whenever it starts. Knoebels says it is taking new reservations for June 1 through November 1. If, for some reason, the 2020 season at Knoebels isn’t open by then, those reservations can be modified.

“Our guests and team members are providing hope for the brighter days ahead. Guests are reaching out, requesting new reservations and providing assurance they’ll be here when we open, and many team members have expressed their desire to get back to work. We couldn’t be more appreciative of this support and hope you know we’re eager to welcome everyone back as soon as safely possible,” the company adds.

You can reach Knoebels with any questions on events, reservations, and more by calling 800-487-4386 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. You can also email them at contact@knoebels.com.
