A pair of Philadelphia women face possession and other charges after getting caught bringing drugs in to the SCI-Mahanoy prison.
State Police at Frackville report that on Jan. 2, Jessica Brown-Flint, 28, and Ashley Banks, 24, both from Philadelphia, were each visiting someone inside SCI-Mahanoy.
After they entered the prison facility, staff there found drugs on them and notified police.
As PA State Police arrived, the women were outside the facility with prison staff. Trooper John Davis at the Frackville barracks took the two women into custody and transported them to the station.
Banks faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and driving without a license.
On Feb. 24, charges against her were held over for Schuylkill County Common Pleas Court.
Brown-Flint faces similar charges, including possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended or revoked license. Court records show she’s due for a preliminary hearing on the charges related to the incident at SCI-Mahanoy on March 12 at 10 a.m. before District Judge Anthony Kilker. She’s currently in a Norristown jail.
