Pine Grove After Redemption in Class 3A Softball Title Game

Pine Grove’s Lady Cardinals softball team hasn’t let anyone stop them on their way to the PIAA Class 3A softball championship game.

On Friday, they’ll take on Bald Eagle Area at Penn State University in State College at 1:30 p.m.

PIAA Class 3A Softball Championship: Pine Grove vs. Bald Eagle Area

When we say no one got in Pine Grove’s way so far, we should clarify. The Lady Cards haven’t let anyone get in their way. Opponents are lucky to get anyone on base. In the three games so far in the state tournament, Pine Grove outscored opponents 40-0.

Here’s a look at how the Lady Cardinals reached the championship game:

  • First Round: Pine Grove 15, Masterman 0
  • Quarterfinals: Pine Grove 8, Warrior Run 0
  • Semifinals: Pine Grove 17, Bloomsburg 0

There are no easy outs in these stages of any state tournament. So Pine Grove should expect some resistance. Bald Eagle is not likely to care much about what Pine Grove did so far. They’ve allowed just 3 runs in 3 state tournament games so far.

Here’s a look at how Bald Eagle reached the Class 3A softball finals:

  • First Round: Bald Eagle 6, South Park 1
  • Quarterfinals: Bald Eagle 4, Keystone Oaks 2
  • Semifinals: Bald Eagle 1, Clearfield 0
