Williams Valley Crushes Millersburg to Reach 4th Straight 1A Softball Final

Williams Valley peppered Millersburg all day in the PIAA Class 1A softball semifinal.

Eventually, the Indians gave way and the Lady Vikings came away with a 15-1, 5-inning romp.

Grace Hoffman went 3-for-4 and drove in 3 runs for Williams Valley. Tori Rabuck, Jamie Neiman, Emma Crisswell, and Kenna Ferron each had 2 hits for the Lady Vikings. In total, the team collected 14 hits and scored in every inning.

The 6-run 5th inning sealed the deal for Williams Valley.

Stevie Unger scattered 6 Millersburg hits in the shortened game. She struck out 5 and walked 3. The Indians did plate a run in the 1st to counter the 2 Williams Valley posted in the top half of the inning.

Williams Valley advances to the PIAA Class 1A Championship game and faces DuBois Central Catholic.

DCC spoiled a potential rematch of the 2016-2018 finals, defeating West Greene, 3-2, in the other semifinal game.

Williams Valley last won the state title in 2016.

The championship is set for Friday at 11 a.m. at Beard Field, Nittany Lion Softball Park at Penn State University.
