National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of 5 counties, including southwestern Schuylkill County until 5:45 p.m. on May 28.
The forecast indicates a severe thunderstorm was located at Hummels Wharf, moving southwest at 40 mph, just before 5 p.m.
Reports indicate the storm contains ping pong ball-sized hail and wind gusts at 60 mph.
The following communities could be impacted by this Severe Thunderstorm Warning:
- Mount Carmel
- Ashland
- Trevorton
- Girardville
- Tower City
- Williamstown
