Locust Lake Offers Loaner Activity Backpacks for Younger Campers

Locust Lake State Park launched a new program this year aimed at younger campers.

It’s part of the state’s DiscoverE program. This program offers activities for campers from ages 4-17.

Youth campers reach out to the park’s contact station when they visit Locust Lake and pick up one of these DiscoverE backpacks. Campers keep the backpacks for up to 2 days and complete different activities within the confines of the Locust Lake park.

By completing these activities, young campers earn badges that are recognized at other Pennsylvania state parks.
