Members of Schuylkill Hose Co. No. 2 in Schuylkill Haven recently pulled a pickup truck from the Schuylkill River.
The incident occurred on Feb. 6 in the borough of Landingville. According to Schuylkill Hose Co.’s Facebook page, its crew was dispatched to 37 Gaydos Lane in Landingville. Check out the map below for an idea where that is:
The volunteer firefighters were responding to reports of a pickup truck over an embankment and into the Schuylkill River.
Both people in the truck were out of the vehicle and on the shore of the river when the water rescue team arrived, the company says.
Rescue Chief Shane Heck ordered a dive team to launch an inflatable boat into the river. A diver needed to go underwater to secure the truck so a wrecker could pull it out. The diver went under and wrapped chains to the truck.
After the truck was removed from the water, the rescue crew left the scene.
