A drainage project will close a portion of Route 25 in Reilly Township for nearly two weeks, starting today (May 18).
PennDOT maintenance forces will conduct bridge repairs, pothole patching, and drainage work across Schuylkill County. Most work consists of daytime lane restrictions, but the Reilly Township drainage work will require a full, 24-hour detour.
For residents and commuters, here is the complete schedule of upcoming roadwork:
Major Closures & Detours
- Reilly Township (Route 25): PennDOT will close the road between Commonwealth Drive and US 209 for drainage work. A 24-hour detour will utilize Interstate 81 and US 209. The project starts May 18 and carries an estimated end date of May 29. Rain may cause delays.
Interstate 81 Bridge Repairs
- Butler Township (I-81 North): Bridge repairs at Exit 124 (PA 61) will force daytime northbound lane restrictions on May 18 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Delano Township (I-81 North): Bridge repairs at Exit 134 (Delano) will cause northbound lane restrictions on May 19 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Kline Township (I-81 North): Bridge repairs at Exit 138 (PA 309) will result in northbound lane restrictions on May 20 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Ryan Township (I-81 South): Bridge repair work between Exit 124 (PA 61) and Exit 131 (PA 54) will mandate southbound lane restrictions from May 20 through May 21 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Local Pothole Patching
- East Norwegian Township (Route 61): Crews will patch potholes between Mammies Ave. and Hancock St. Drivers should expect daytime lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. between May 20 and May 21.
- Orwigsburg (Lincoln Ave.): Pothole patching between Industrial Drive and Lehigh Avenue will cause lane restrictions on May 22 from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.
