Schuylkill County Woman Allegedly Scattered Meth About Her Bedroom to Hide It from Police During Search

Warrant issued for arrest of Cherie Breisch

A Schuylkill County woman is facing a felony drug charge after police say they found more than 35 grams of methamphetamine scattered across her bedroom and packaging materials that told them she was selling from her house.

State Police executed a search warrant at 877 Ann St. – the home of Cherie Breisch, 53, of Norwegian Township – just before 6 p.m. on March 4. Police say the search followed an investigation that began earlier this year into methamphetamine trafficking from the home.

Upon entering the residence, police say they found Breisch in a second-floor, bedroom and immediately took her into custody. Inside the room, police observed suspected methamphetamine strewn on the floor and surrounding furniture. Police allege the drugs appeared to be purposely scattered in an attempt to conceal their presence. Police also discovered a ripped-open plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine and residue scattered around the room.

Police say they collected as much of the scattered substance from the room and its carpet as possible. A field test yielded a positive result for methamphetamine with a preliminary weight of more than 35 grams, police say.

During a search of the remainder of the residence, police discovered packaging materials and several digital scales in multiple areas. Specifically, on a living room table, police say they found an unused digital scale, unused re-sealable baggies, and methamphetamine in very close proximity. Police state this arrangement indicates the measurement and packaging of methamphetamine being offered for sale.

In addition to a felony count of possession with intent to deliver, Breisch is also facing misdemeanor counts of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.
