Frackville has added a full-time police officer to its roster. The move begins to address losses to the department.
Last week, Tyler Wall was promoted from a part-time position to full-time. The Frackville native and 2023 graduate of North Schuylkill High School was originally added to the department as a part-time officer back in April 2025.
Wall was sworn in at the Borough’s regular council meeting on April 9. Mayor John Morgan Jr., Officer-in-charge Brian Reno, and Wall’s father all participated.
Since Wall’s addition last year, the Frackville Police Dept. has experienced significant losses with the resignation of Joseph Murton and termination of then-Chief Paul Olson. Murton and Olson are alleged to have participated in a wrongful arrest incident in August last year.
Now, they, the Borough, and Schuylkill County are facing a federal lawsuit filed by Joshua Lindenmuth, of Frackville, who claims he was negligently mistaken as another man of the same name who was wanted by police, arrested, and jailed overnight.
Olson has filed a separate claim in Schuylkill County Court claiming the Borough terminated him illegally. Reno has been named as Officer-in-charge in Frackville.
In January, Patrolman Bryce Dragna left the force for a job in Pottsville.
Frackville, in addition to promoting Wall last week, also approved advertising for more full- and part-time officers for its police force.
