A Schuylkill County woman was jailed on Easter Sunday after she allegedly assaulted a man during a domestic altercation earlier that morning.
Police in Pottsville say they were called to a home in the 1000 block of Laurel Blvd. shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday. As they arrived on the scene, police say they came into contact with the alleged victim of the incident who said that he and his current partner, 24-year-old Morgan Eiler, had gotten into a argument after being out for the vening.
That argument allegedly led to Eiler throwing his belongings outside the house and it became physical when she allegedly caused large, bleeding scratches on the side of his face and on both sides of his neck. He also had a visible bite mark on his head and more scratch marks on an arm. The victim’s shirt was also ripped, police say.
Eiler, who was visibly intoxicated, allegedly admitted to hitting the victim, police say. She was taken into custody at the scene and later arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker on a misdemeanor count of simple assault and summary count of harassment. Kilker set bail at 10% of $10,000, which was posted on Monday, according to court records. A preliminary hearing before Judge James Reiley is scheduled for next Monday.
