National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Schuylkill County.
The Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 5 a.m. Sunday until 1 p.m. Monday.
Right now, NWS says between 6-12 inches of snow is expected to fall. Snow could be heavy at times, with rates of up to 1 inch per hour.
Further, wind gusts can reach 40 mph on Sunday night and into Monday.
The combination of heavy snow and strong winds could bring down power lines and cause power outages, according to NWS.
Travel could be very difficult or impossible during the storm and the Monday morning commute will likely be affected.
As of now, there is still uncertainty on where the heaviest snow will fall from this storm. Totals could be higher due to localized bands of heavy snow.
