I am Vaughn Vesay, and I’m honored to be a candidate for Saint Clair Borough Council. Today, I want to share with you my idea for our community and the desperate need for change.
Over the past two years, I have made it my mission to utilize technology to ensure that every single resident has access to our borough meetings. Many of you face barriers that prevent you from participating, whether working second shifts, managing disabilities, age, or simply feeling hesitant to voice your opinions. It is crucial that we bridge this gap, and that starts with transparency and inclusivity. Everyone deserves to have their voice heard, and I am committed to making that a reality.
However, it’s not just about access, it’s about accountability. We have witnessed immature spending practices under the current administration. Two years ago, Mayor Tomko warned us of unsustainable budget deficits close to half a million dollars, highlighting the urgent need for fiscal responsibility. He also wrote that we must understand the difference between what we want and what we need. The Mayor stated all of this in the Meeting minutes of December 2023. I implore all of you to go to the Borough site and read it. With the upcoming budget, you’ll see that spending has not changed. The same reckless financial practices are leading us to inevitable price hikes as business continues “as usual.” This is unacceptable, and it’s time for fresh faces with innovative ideas to step forward.
Together, we can give Saint Clair the shot of adrenaline it deserves. Let’s revitalize our community, prioritize responsible spending, and ensure that every resident’s voice is valued in our decision making processes. We need a council that works diligently for you, the residents of Saint Clair.
On November 4th, I ask you to vote not just for me but for two other great candidates that have the desire and drive to make our home of Saint Clair a place for us all to live comfortably and take pride in,Tom Kelly and Blake Herndon. Let’s change Saint Clair … Together! Thank you.
