STORM CENTER: Schuylkill County Winter Storm Alerts

Municipal, county, and state announcements and service alerts from around Schuylkill County

Another, potentially significant, snowstorm is headed for Schuylkill County.

And with that comes parking bans, restrictions, and other snow-adjacent announcements.

Mahanoy City

A Snow Ban is in effect from 8 a.m. Sunday until noon on Monday in Mahanoy City.

During this time, there will be no parking on Centre, Main, Liberty Hill, and South streets in the borough. Police are telling residents to have their vehicles removed from these streets during the Snow Ban.


Saint Clair

A Snow Ban goes into effect in Saint Clair from 10 a.m. on Sunday and lasts until 3 p.m. Monday.

Parking on Snow Emergency Routes during this time is prohibited. Vehicles parked along Snow Emergency Routes may be ticketed and towed.


Shenandoah

Shenandoah has announced a Snow Removal Emergency and Snow Emergency Route in effect from 11 p.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Monday.

During this time, the Shenandoah Police Department is authorized to strictly enforce parking regulations. Any vehicles found obstructing snow removal or emergency access in restricted zones will be subject to ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense. Residents are advised to limit travel in the affected areas and monitor Borough communications for further updates.

Parking is strictly prohibited on the following Snow Emergency Routes:

  • Center Street: Between White Street and West Street
  • Main Street: From Washington Street to Laurel Street
  • All public alleyways within the Borough

Vehicles parked on Snow Emergency Routes and in alleys during this time may be ticketed and towed.
