National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Schuylkill County on Sunday.
The Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 1 p.m. today and expires at 1 a.m. Monday.
Freezing rain is expected today. Ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch are possible.
The freezing rain could make travel difficult throughout the day today.
After midnight, temperatures are expected to rise above freezing, ending the chance for slippery conditions on roads.
The high temperature of about 50 degrees on Monday will come early before a cold front sweeps through the area. Temperatures will then plummet into the mid-20s later in the day.
Strong gusty winds will persist through Monday night in Schuylkill County. Wind gusts could top 50 mph in some spots.
