My name is Christian Lengel, and I’m a Pine Grove Township resident, law enforcement officer, and candidate for District Judge in western Schuylkill County. I’m running as the Republican candidate for the Magisterial District Judge seat previously held by retired District Judge David Rossi, who presided over Magisterial District Court 21-3-04 in Tremont.
This campaign feels like a natural progression from my experience as a police officer, fire marshal, and school resource officer. More importantly, it’s an opportunity to serve the community in which I was born and raised.
My background in public service includes serving as a volunteer firefighter, Deputy Schuylkill County Sheriff, and part-time Hegins Township Police Officer. These experiences have given me a unique perspective and the skills necessary to effectively serve the people of Schuylkill County.
I’m a graduate of Pine Grove Area High School and earned my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Alvernia University in Reading. During my time in college, I completed training at the Reading Municipal Police Academy and later attended the Pennsylvania Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Training Academy.
If elected, I intend to continue my lifelong dedication to public safety and community service. I see the Magisterial District Judge role as an extension of my desire to make our community a safe place to live and work. I also believe that the person who holds this position must treat everyone who enters the courtroom with dignity and respect. I want to use my knowledge and experience behind the bench to benefit this office and the community.
Along the campaign trail, I’ve been honored to receive endorsements from the Schuylkill County Chiefs of Police and the Pennsylvania State Police Philip Melley FOP Lodge. I also completed and passed the Minor Judiciary Education Board Certification Training, which involved an intensive course of study related to the duties of the office and a comprehensive final examination. I’m proud to have earned all A’s in the four categories of that course study.
I have a deep appreciation for the 18 western Schuylkill County municipalities in this district, and I pledge to represent all of them and their citizens equally—with integrity and trustworthiness. My local law enforcement background, knowledge of civil processes, understanding of local government, and familiarity with the needs of our municipalities have left me well-positioned to be an asset in this role.
The general election will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2025. This judicial district covers Barry, Branch, Cass, Eldred, Foster, Frailey, Hegins, Hubley, Pine Grove Borough and Township, Porter, Reilly, Tower City, Tremont Borough and Township, Upper Mahantongo, Washington, and Wayne Township.
I live in Pine Grove Township with my wife, Karen, and our five children. I’m an active member of the NRA and participate in several local fish and game associations. In my free time, I enjoy hunting and coaching my children in various sports, including baseball and soccer.
