It’s been three years to the day since Zachary Vidal, of Pottsville, was last seen.
In that time, there’s not a day that’s gone by that Vidal’s aunt, Cindy Vidal-King, hasn’t thought about her missing nephew and kept the search for him going.
“I’m determined to bring my nephew home,” Vidal-King tells The Canary. “I’m at it constantly. Today is very hard because it’s the three year mark.”
Pottsville Police say their investigation into the disappearance of Zachary Vidal continues as well.
Police say in those three years, investigators have followed all leads and reviewed numerous tips related to Vidal’s disappearance.
“The Pottsville Bureau of Police remains committed to locating Zachary and determining the circumstances surrounding his disappearance,” the department says in a news release today.
Anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, is encouraged to come forward. Any tips provided will be carefully reviewed and could prove valuable to investigators.
A cash reward is still being offered by PA Crime Stoppers and the Vidal family to anyone providing information that leads to information on Vidal’s whereabouts.
People with information can contact Pottsville Police Capt. Joseph Welsh at 570-622-1234 x1350 or leave an anonymous message with PA Crime Stoppers at 1-877-472-8477.
Vidal-King says the assistance she’s received from police in the city has been “phenomenal,” in particular Welsh.
“He is a wonderful man. He has been a great support for myself. He has been outstanding. Outstanding 110%! Capt Welsh and all his officers have been phenomenal,” she says.
Vidal-King her search continues every day for her nephew. And she won’t rest and be at peace until they’re reunited.
“It’s torture,” she says. “You could be happy and smiling one minute and then burst out crying. I’m at this daily. This is my blood and I want to bring him home.”
Since Zachary went missing, Vidal-King says she doesn’t see Pottsville – the city where she grew up – the same.
“All i see is my missing nephew. It’s emptiness. What can I do? Why is this happening? It’s an awful feeling,” she says.
While police continue their search, Vidal-King also continues her efforts as well. On Nov. 8, she’s organizing a “very intense” grid search, for which she is bringing in a pair of K-9s to aid in the effort. The search party will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 8 at the KFC parking lot in Pottsville.
She begs for the public’s help with this search. Anyone that wants to join the effort should contact Vidal-King through her Facebook page by following this link.
Vidal-King believes there is someone out there with information that will lead to her finding Zachary.
“Somebody always knows something,” she says.
