My name is Blake Herndon, and I am proud to stand before you today as a candidate for the Saint Clair Borough Council. Alongside my running mates, Vaughn Vesay and Tom Kelly, I am dedicated to bringing about the positive change our community so desperately needs.
Today, I want to talk about the future of our town, our environment, and the very representation you deserve. First and foremost, we must focus on lowering electric rates to make energy more sustainable and affordable for both our residents and businesses, now and in the future. A sustainable community is a prosperous community, and together we can make that happen.
We must also stay vigilant in holding the Department of Environmental Protection and BRADS Landfill accountable. It’s crucial that we protect our families from the toxic threats that pollution and excessive truck traffic pose. The health and safety of our community come first, and I promise to keep pushing for stronger regulations and oversight until we can be assured that we are protected.
I would also like to take a moment to address a critical issue we face: accountability. Those currently sitting on this council are showing up to meetings only 62% of the time. If you or I performed at that level in our jobs, we would be let go. We have an incumbent who occupies a seat but contributes nothing of substance. If you’ve watched the council meetings, you know that all we get in response is a simple “YAY” or “NAY” — no real questions, no valuable insights. That’s not leadership; that’s negligence.
We deserve representatives who are engaged, present, and who care about the issues that impact our lives. We need change, folks, and that change starts with each of you. On November 4th, I ask for your support not only to revitalize the way we live but also to transform the way we govern.
Vote for a council that works for you. Vote for a council that listens and acts. Vote for me, Blake Herndon, and my team, Vaughn Vesay and Tom Kelly. Together, let’s build a brighter future for Saint Clair. Thank you!
