A Schuylkill County finds herself in familiar territory with her dogs following an incident last month.
According to State Police-Schuylkill Haven, a Trooper was dispatched to a home along Route 183 in Wayne Township at about 4:30 p.m. on July 14 for an issue with dogs.
Police say they spoke with the victim of this incident who told them that he saw several long-haired white dogs running around his and his neighbor’s property back on June 26.
At about 9:30 p.m. on that date, the victim said those two dogs were growling at him as they stood on his property. He told police he had a tool in his hand and struck the ground with the tool to scare them away.
The victim told police that several times after this incident, he witnessed these same dogs running around his neighborhood. He provided police with a photo of the dogs in question.
Police say they recognized the dogs and their owner, Sylwia Zapolska, 45, from previous run-ins with her over the same issue. Attempts to contact Zapolska following this incident were unsuccessful, police say.
This is not Zapolska’s first or second instance with her dogs allegedly running loose in her neighborhood. She’s got two similar inactive cases on her record. And police say she’s also got … 92 other charges on her record for failing to keep her dogs on her property. The previous charges are all out of Lehigh County.
For this most recent instance, police have charged Zapolska with two third-degree misdemeanor counts of failing to confine her dogs on her property. A preliminary hearing for this case will be held before Magisterial District Judge David Rossi on Sept. 25.
