Two Schuylkill County students recently placed first at the 57th Annual SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Leadership and Skill Conference. Their victory in the statewide competition earns them the right to compete at the National SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta in June.
Jaylynn Endicott (Shenandoah Valley) placed first in Esthetics and Ava Vengen (Tamaqua Area) placed first in Esthetics Model at state competition held April 3-4 at The Hershey Lodge.
Endicott and Vengen were among seven Schuylkill County students who attend Schuylkill Technology Center North and South campuses that competed at the SkillsUSA state competition.
Riley Kabana and Madison Schock (both of Tamaqua Area) finished in second of the Career Pathways (Human) competition. Also competing were Mason McMillan (Tamaqua Area) in Motorcycle Service, Gavin Blazer (Tri-Valley) in Power Equipment Technology, and Logan Leatherman (Tamaqua Area) in Electronics Technology.
These students from Schuylkill County participated as Courtesy Corp Members, assisting in the competition: Ava Ciarvella (Pottsville Area), Ciara Longenberger (North Schuylkill), Mahdy Farhat (Minersville Area), and Hayden Bowden (North Schuylkill).
