Lamour Branch Denied Chance to See His Alleged Baby Being Born

If Lamour Branch gets to see the baby he allegedly fathered being born, he’ll only have a chance to do that via video.

On Friday, Branch was denied a furlough from Schuylkill County Prison to attend the birth of his alleged baby.

It’s not indicated when the baby is expected.

The order handed down by Schuylkill County President Judge Jacqueline L. Russell denies Branch that furlough, which he sought in a hearing on Friday morning.

In her order, Russell does order that if Schuylkill County Prison is able to accommodate the use of a tablet that would allow Branch to view the birth of this baby, he may do so.

But it’s also ordered that the hospital where this baby is being born is not required to allow communications “including audio and video recording or depiction preceding, during, or following the birth” of the child.

That decision is the sole discretion of the hospital and its personnel, Russell’s order indicates.

Further, any communication between Branch and the mother of the child will be monitored by prison staff, recorded and retained by Schuylkill County Prison administration.

Russell’s order also requires the mother of the child must agree to the conditions of the ordered handed down on Friday.

Branch is in Schuylkill County Prison on two murder charges in connection with the deaths of New Philadelphia teens Hunter Mock and Angelito Caraballo, who were killed on the night of October 8, 2023, in a wooded area outside that borough known as The Sanchez.
