A Schuylkill County man took a pee he won’t soon forget on Saturday night.
According to an affidavit filed by Minersville Police, the incident happened about at 11 p.m. on Saturday night, March 16.
In court documents, police say they were sent to the 100 block of Sunbury St. in the borough for a report of an intoxicated man relieving himself in public.
When police arrived at the scene, Patrolman Leo Securda spotted Jamar Williams, of Race St. in Pottsville, and identified him as the urinator in question. Securda got Williams’ ID information and learned from Schuylkill County Communications Center that Williams was allegedly a fugitive from federal authorities, police say in their court filing.
Securda reportedly told Williams he was under arrest but the suspected urinator had other plans.
First, police say Williams attempted to stall his arrest. As Securda tried to place Wiliams in custody, police say the suspect ran, heading west on Sunbury St, through the Borough’s municipal lot and onto the 100 block of South St.
Securda says he gave chase and caught up to Wiliams in a private driveway. The suspect tried to flee once more but the patrolman deployed his TASER, dropping Williams, and incapacitating him.
Back at the Minersville Police station, it was learned that Williams is allegedly wanted on a weapons violation while he was on supervised release.
