National Weather Service has placed Schuylkill County under a Wind Advisory starting Wednesday afternoon.
The Wind Advisory takes effect at 3 p.m. Wednesday and extends until 7 a.m. Thursday.
Wind gusts could max out at 55 mph, according to forecasters. Steady winds out of the west will reach 20-30 mph.
The wind will be strong enough to blow around unsecured objects and bring down tree limbs, which could result in power outages.
Wind gusts starting tonight could reach 25 mph and top out at 38 mph during the day Wednesday.
The strongest gusts are expected Wednesday night, according to NWS’ 7-day forecast. Expect a steady wind on Wednesday night out of the west at 23-30 mph.
Up to three-quarters of an inch of rain is expected on Wednesday with a high temperature of 60 expected. However, temps will plummet in a hurry and a low of just 24 is forecast at night. Snow showers are expected overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning.
