A truck driver from North Carolina was seriously injured in a crash along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County earlier this month.
According to information from State Police-Fracvkille, this crash happened back on Feb. 7, just before 2 a.m. in Ryan Township.
Police say Alvaro Zavala, 56, was driving his Freightliner Cascadia 125 north on I-81 at that time.
Zavala’s truck exited off the left side of the highway and hit a ditch. The truck continued north on the grass median.
At that point, Zavala reportedly tried to steer his truck back onto the highway, which caused it to overturn and hit a guide rail. The truck came to a stop on the median, facing east.
Zavala was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for treatment of a suspected serious injury.
