It was nearly 47 years ago when Randy Brosius was last seen. However, Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate his disappearance.
Brosius, of Valley View, was 22 years old when he disappeared. He’d be 69 years old today. He was last seen driving east on Route 209 in Williamstown, Dauphin County, with two men from Florida, Kenneth H. Lenker and Richard Green, according to Charley Project. They’d just left the parking lot of Mace’s Blue Fountain Motel.
During Christmas of 1976, Brosius’ parents allegedly received some threatening phone calls. The caller was trying to exploit his parents, asking for $500. They said they had information about Brosius’ apparent role in a big marijuana deal at that time.
The caller threatened to cut off parts of Brosius’ body if his parents didn’t pay their ransom. Brosius’ mother got together the $500 and arranged to meet the purported captors in Williamstown but they never showed.
Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers reports that Lenker and Green were both located in Cocoa, Florida. Charley Project reports that neither was arrested in connection with Brosius’ disappearance. Brosius’ mother said then that her son knew Lenker and Green but didn’t consider them friends.
When he was last seen, Brosius was wearing a black Navy peacoat, jeans, and black zippered Wellington boots. He was dependent on insulin to treat diabetes and didn’t have any insulin on him at the time of his disappearance.
Brosius was 5-feet, 6 inches tall and weighed 140 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes and had a mustache.
A fracture of his right leg, which broke his leg in 18 places, caused him to walk with a noticeable limp. And he had a mangled finger. Those injuries were reportedly sustained in an accident.
There is a $5,000 reward for information on Brosius’ disappearance that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police-Harrisburg at 717-671-7500. They can also contact Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PA-TIPS or use the online form at this link.
