600 Feet of Copper Wire Reportedly Stolen … 20 FEET IN THE AIR!

Stolen wire has a value of $10K

Verizon says someone stole 600 feet of stranded copper phone wire late last week from a location in Schuylkill Township in Schuylkill County.

According to information from State Police-Frackville, the heist allegedly happened between 6 p.m. on Dec. 15 and 12:40 a.m. on Dec. 16.

Verizon says 300 feet of 300 stranded copper wires encased in hard plastic and 300 feet of 100 stranded copper wires encased in hard plastic were taken.

At the time it was taken from the Schuylkill Twp. location near Old 209 and Walnut St., the stolen wire was attached to utility poles about 20 feet in the air.

The wire taken has a value of $10,000.

Anyone with information about this reported theft is asked to call State Police-Frackville at 570-874-5300.
