A Schuylkill County man is accused of getting aggressive with a machete during a road rage incident on Thursday.
According to State Police-Frackville, this incident happened in Mahanoy Township, at Route 54 and Ellen Gowan Rd., at about 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 14.
Police say Amaury Bastardo Batista, 47, of Shenandoah, was preventing another motorist from passing him in a passing zone on the highway.
Batista and the other driver both pulled their vehicles to the side of the road and exchanged some apparently heated words with each other.
During that argument, police say, Batista made some gestures indicating he wanted to fight the other motorist. At that point, Batista went to his vehicle and whipped out a machete.
Batista hit the roof of the other motorist’s vehicle with that machete before retreating to his vehicle and driving away.
Police are charging Batista with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief as a result of this incident.
