Carolyn Jane (Lanzetta) Carroll formerly of Auburn, age 82, passed away peacefully at Tremont Health and Rehab Center, Tremont, after an extended battle with dementia.
Jane was born in Philadelphia on November 18, 1941 to the late Carolyn Elizabeth (Trafficante) and Guido Joseph Lanzetta.
She graduated from South Philadelphia High School in 1959 which she attended with many famous celebrities including Chubby Checker, Fabian and Frankie Avalon.
Prior to moving to Auburn, she resided in Magnolia, NJ from 1966 to 1979 where she was one of the first women elected to town council in 1974.
In addition to public office, Jane was a secretary for the Small Business Administration in Philadelphia, product manager at Tamaqua Cable in Schuylkill Haven, an Adjunct Computer Instructor at Albright College in Reading, and a business owner of Carroll’s Computer Services where she did database programming, computer education and networking services. Jane retired in 1999 to be a full-time grandmother.
While at the Small Business Association she met John “Jack” T. Carroll Sr., a vertical circulation engineer (elevator operator) with a sense of humor that sustained them in marriage from May 25, 1963 until his death August 21, 2021. She is survived by a son, John “JC” Carroll, daughter-in-law Malinda Mae (Aston) Carroll of Port Richey, FL and Granddaughter-in-law Alasha Rae Doubek. She was proceeded in death by her only grandchild, Sean M. Carroll, November 30, 2019.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home, Orwigsburg, on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 7:00 PM, memorial gathering beginning at 6:00 PM. Her ashes will be sent to sea to join her husband and grandson in a private ceremony.
