PennDOT has announced several upcoming road work projects in Schuylkill County, affecting Mahanoy Twp., Washington Twp., and Ryan Twp. These projects are scheduled to take place throughout April and may cause traffic disruptions.
In Mahanoy Twp., PennDOT Bridge Inspection Forces will conduct an inspection on PA 54 between Buck Mountain Road and Hillside Drive. The work is slated to begin on April 18 and will be completed on the same day. Lane restrictions will be in place in both directions from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for bridge inspection work. Delays may occur if it rains on the scheduled date.
In Washington Twp., PennDOT Maintenance Forces will perform crack sealing on Hetzels Church Road between PA 895 and PA 443. The project is scheduled to start on April 3 and is expected to finish on April 7. During this time, lane restrictions with flagging will be in effect from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Lastly, in Ryan Twp., Interstate 81 will undergo crack sealing work between Exit 119 (Highridge Park Road) and Exit 124 (PA 61). This project, also carried out by PennDOT Maintenance Forces, is set to begin on April 3 with an estimated completion date of April 7. There will be lane restrictions in place from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
