Several communities in Schuylkill County have implemented parking bans or special parking rules in advance of the expected snow storm on Jan. 25.
Here are details on each municipality’s parking rules …
Ashland
Parking will be prohibited on Hoffman Boulevard from Brock Street to Centre Street.
Centre Street from Front Street to 23rd Street.
Residents are ordered to move their cars from these locations.
Any vehicles not moved from the above locations will be fined $50 and towed away at the owner’s expense.
Frackville
Parking is prohibited along all snow emergency routes:
- Entire length of North and South Lehigh avenues
- Entire length of East and West Oak streets
Vehicles parked on the snow emergency route after 7 a.m. on Jan. 25 are subject to ticketing and tow.
Mahanoy City
The borough is imposing a parking ban from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 for the following streets:
- Centre
- Main
- South
- Liberty Hill
Palo Alto
Parking is prohibited on Jenny St. and the north side of Savory St. (odd side) from 12 a.m. Wednesday, January 25 through 7 a.m. Thursday, January 26.
Cars will be towed at owner’s expense.
Shenandoah
A Snow Ban goes into effect from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Jan. 25. Parking is prohibited on Main St., from Washington to Laurel, and Centre St., from West to White.
Vehicles will be ticketed and towed.
