A 19-year-old man was shot Saturday night at a movie theater building outside Hazleton.
According to State Police in Hazleton, the shooting happened at about 8:15 p.m. at the Regal Cinema at Laurel Mall in Hazle Twp., Luzerne County.
Police say they responded to a report of “shots being fired” at the movie theater. Their investigation of the scene revealed that a 19-year-old man was shot in the arcade/lobby area of the Regal Cinema building.
The suspected shooter fled the scene and area, according to police. The shooting victim was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton for treatment of his injuries.
Police say the victim of this shooting was “specifically targeted” and is an “isolated incident.”
The Troop N Major Case Team is in charge of the active investigation. And police say this is all the information they’re releasing for now to not “jeopardize the integrity of the investigation.”
