Police believe a Schuylkill County dentist may have been groping his female patients and employees for “a considerable amount of time” and there may be more victims.
Earlier this week, police brought Scott Miller Parkinson, 58, from the Orwigsburg area, before District Judge David Rossi, charging him with crimes related to his suspected unwanted sexual advances at his Tremont dental practice.
Court papers show Parkinson is charged with a third-degree felony charge of sexual extortion, a pair of misdemeanor indecent assault charges, a count of indecent exposure, and other crimes.
Parkinson posted bail and was released on Aug. 2, awaiting a preliminary hearing on Aug. 11.
Police say 2 women, one 23 years old and the other 58, reported Parkinson touching his female employees and patients without their consent.
Multiple victims have been identified, police say in their report. However, they believe Parkinson subjected more women to his advances and there are likely more victims.
Those suspected victims are being encouraged by police to come forward. They can call State Police Criminal Investigation Unit at 570-754-4600.
