State Police are investigating a fraudulent sale of roofing shingles in Schuylkill County.
Back in September, police say in information released this week, a 37-year-old Hegins man reported buying roofing shingles from another man for $7,980.
The shingles are worth about $80,000, police say.
Well, it turns out that the man selling the shingles stole them from his employer and then sold them to the Hegins man, police learned through an investigation. The shingles have since been returned to the original owner but police say their investigation into the sale continues.
They haven’t filed any charges stemming from this incident, according to a court records search.
