A threat written on a bathroom stall inside Pottsville Area High School has the building under lockdown this afternoon.
Superintendent Sarah Yoder emailed Pottsville Area parents Thursday afternoon to inform them of the situation inside the school.
She writes, “The HS (High School) Administration was informed there was a threatening statement written in a bathroom stall. Lockdown procedures were implemented to ensure safety. Police were immediately notified and conducted a thorough investigation with the administration.”
Police vehicles were spotted parked outside the high school along Elk Ave. at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Yoder informs parents the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
