Christina Hale was the top vote-getter on both party ballots in the race for two seats on the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas judicial bench.
Hale picked up a GOP nomination by getting 12,270 votes Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau. She earned a Democrat nomination by getting 5,271 votes.
She moves on to the November General Election where she’ll be joined on the ballot by James Conville, who finished 2nd in the Democrat Primary, and Chris Hobbs, who finished a strong 2nd in the GOP election.
Julie Werdt finished 4th in each election and will not appear on the November ballot.
Hale, Hobbs, Conville Earn Nominations for Schuylkill Court of Common Pleas
Hale, Hobbs, and Conville will now face off for the two open judicial seats at the County Courthouse.
While Hale dominated the election Tuesday, Hobbs also had a strong showing as the GOP continues to enjoy comfortable election margins in countywide races.
Hobbs picked up nearly 11,000 votes in the GOP Primary, about 5,700 votes more than Conville, who finished 3rd among Republican voters. In the Democrat Primary, Hobbs is just 192 votes shy of 2nd-place Conville.
Each of the 4 candidates cross-filed for Tuesday’s Primary but it was clear the team of Hale and Hobbs were backed by the GOP and Conville and Werdt, the Democrats.
In a Facebook post Tuesday night from the Conville campaign, the candidate wrote, “We still have a lot of work to do. We will continue to grow our movement over the coming months and we will see everyone in the fall!”
