How do you turn a Good Friday into a great Friday?
Order some Pottsville Pizzeria, of course.
Go-to Good Friday Foods
We were in bustling Mount Carbon this Good Friday loading up on all the necessary items to properly observe the holiday per religious customs.
Suddenly, we wondered, when else can someone in Schuylkill County say, “I got all I needed in Mount Carbon”?
After stopping off at Adelphia Seafood for dinner and a late-night snack of too many shrimp, we popped into Pottsville Pizzeria (our pick as the top pizza in not just Pottsville, but Schuylkill County entirely) for some lunch.
And in just a few short minutes, in a town of about 80 people, we were able to get everything we needed to turn this Good Friday into a great Friday.
We want to know from our readers, do you observe Good Friday by avoiding eating meat for the day?
And if you do, what do you eat?
Some people prefer fish, be it from a seafood shop like Adelphia, your grocer’s refrigerated section or even a Filet-o-Fish from McDonald’s.
Others are somehow repulsed by the thought of eating fish and go for pizza instead.
And then there are those among us who don’t observe this Good Friday custom and just eat whatever.
Oh yeah, there are vegans, too. We’re not really sure what they’d eat today but we’re sure they’ll tell you about it.
Take our quick reader poll and tell us what you’re eating on Good Friday this year:
