A Donaldson man is facing a felony charge after an incident in Frailey Township earlier this month.
According to information released by State Police in Schuylkill Haven, 54-year-old Mark Ginter allegedly tried to grab the Taser from a State Trooper’s belt while they were investigating an incident back on Jan. 3.
Police say they were dispatched to a fight between Ginter and a 42-year-old woman, also from Donaldson, on that night, just before 10. While police were investigating the incident, in which police say the woman escaped injuries, they say Ginter tried to grab the police officer’s Taser.
When he made the move for the Taser, grabbing its handle, police told him he was under arrest. Ginter resisted arrest for a short time and was taken into custody.
Ginter was arraigned before District Judge James Reiley at 2 a.m. the morning of Jan. 4 and committed to Schuylkill County Prison. He posted bond and is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 14 at 10:15 a.m.
Ginter faces a third-degree felony charge of disarming a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor offense of resisting arrest, and a summary charge of harassment.
